“Vāta, Pitta and Kapha are the three doṣas (functional body units that are susceptible to vitiation). Depending whether they are vikṛtā (vitiated) or avikṛtā (not vitiated), they destroy or maintain the body.”

CONSULTATIONS

Start your Journey

All our advanced Āyurveda Services (Classical treatments, Pañca Karma, Wellness Retreats, Group and Individual Coachings) are only accessible to our Āyurveda Clients.

A typical āyurveda consultation starts with an initial intake session which can take up to 90 minutes and during which we discuss your health objectives and conduct a full āyurvedic examination through darśana (observation), sparśana (touch, when available), praśna (conversation) and all eight traditional diagnostic tools (pulse, elimination, tongue, eyes, body through touch, sound, questioning and observation) or detailed forms (if online) to notably understand your constitutional strengths and weaknesses, eventual imbalances and their root causes. Following that assessment, tailored recommendations will be emailed and rediscussed with you a couple of days later.

As health objectives are best achieved through an ongoing process over multiple sessions, each intake is followed by one or several follow-up consultations and individual coaching sessions as per our client’s needs. In these sessions, their progression is assessed and the initial recommendations adapted as needed.

“Śamana (palliative therapy) is that which neither eliminates the vitiated dōṣās (through śodhana), nor provokes the normal functioning of dōṣās, but brings the vitiated dōṣās into balance. It is of seven types: pācana, dīpana, kṣut nigraha, tṛṣṇa nigraha, vyāyāma, ātapa seva and māruta seva.”

ŚAMANA CIKITSA

Reclaim your Health

Āyurveda mainly works on the cause of dis-ease and imbalance. Our tailored diet, lifestyle and herbal recommendations most often start with śamana cikitsa, i.e. palliative measures which aim to bring vitiated doṣas back into balance. These measures can either be nourishing (for example when there is vitiated vāta, alone or with pitta) or reducing (for example in cases of vitiated kapha). We apply the Āyurvedic principles of sāmānya (similarities theory) and viśēṣa (dissimilarity theory) through targeted increase and decrease of specific dravya (substances, including food), guna (qualities) and karma (actions).

To accelerate learning and integration of Āyurveda in your daily life, we offer 1:1 and Group Coaching Sessions.

In addition, specific Therapies and seasonal Home Detox Protocols to pacify doṣas and thereby establish or maintain optimal balance are available to all our Pulse āyurveda clients within 3 months following an Initial Intake or Follow-up consultation.

ŚAMANA THERAPIES

Accelerate Rebalancing

In addition to dietary or lifestyle changes, we offer a wide range of śamana therapies, i.e. classical Āyurvedic bodywork to support and accelerate the rebalancing process.

In substance, according to Vagbhāta, all therapies fall under one of the two following categories:  Bṛṃhaṇa ("building" and nourishing, also called santarpaṇa) on the one hand (used to build all or targeted tissues), and Laṅghana ("lightening" or detoxifying, also called apatarpaṇa) on the other hand (oftentimes used in weightloss or detox protocols).  Snehan (oleation)  and svedan (sudation techniques) play a key role in śamana therapies. They can be adapted to each person through a variety of techniques or augmented with specific ingredients or additional therapies in a way to achieve the above-mentioned goals.
